JOY – in a bottle. How does that work?

Young Living’s Joy is a blend of bergamot, ylang ylang, geranium, lemon, coriander, tangerine, jasmine, roman camomile, palmarosa and rose essential oils. It smells amazing, but why is it called joy? And, can an essential oil actually effect your emotions?

The emotion center of your brain, the amygdala, does not receive signals verbally or through touch. It only responds to smell. So, when you inhale the aroma of an essential oil, those smells go right to the emotional headquarters of your brain. That is why when you smell fresh baked banana bread or cookies, it may stimulate a fond memory from your childhood. In the same way, inhaling the blend of oils found in a bottle of YL’s Joy, can be uplifting and bring joy or even feelings of romance.

This oil blend is actually one of my favorites to wear as a perfume. I put some on my neck in the morning. Diffusing a couple of drops of Joy or other essential oils may help you to overcome feelings of sadness, stress, or grief. Smelling pure essential oils can provide that “pick me up” you need after lunch.

Besides using your diffuser or putting oils directly on your skin, there are some great diffuser necklaces on the market that will help you to wear your favorite oils all day.

A couple of the company’s I know who sell diffuser necklaces are:

www.sacredarrowjewelry.com   This company actually raises money to bless people who have been diagnosed with cancer a free bottle of Young Living Frankincense. Check out their website and their beautiful diffuser necklaces.

www.compelleddesigns.com   This company sells handmade pottery jewelry. There are scriptures carved into each peace of jewelry and the back is left unfinished, so you can drop your favorite oil onto the pottery and wear the smell throughout the day.
